Xero is both an accounting and bookkeeping online software, which has been growing exceptionally since its launch in 2006. Its user-friendly, simple, crisp navigation panel is great to find information without browsing for hours trying to enter the expense claim.

So Xero is easy to learn! I can almost guarantee you will be competent in just six hours of studying it! 

Xero benefits

No wonder over two million users around the world chosen real-time reporting, flexible online and mobile access, secure bank feeds, hundreds of applications available for integration (including Receipts Bank, WorkflowMax, Bill, Hubdoc, Minutedoc, Practice Ignition, etc.).

Xero weaknesses

From personal experience, the quick edit should alert to complete information in full; the invoice template customization is technical for some, inability to send multiple invoices, lack of an option to add a few clients with the same name - are just a few pitfalls. In the meantime, in my course, I explain how to fix those.

How much Xero costs

Costs per month depending on the package, there are three plans at the moment (2021). The plans are:

$11-$32-$31 USA

£10-£24-£30 UK

AU$25-AU$50-AU$65 Australia

It is adapted for sole traders, small businesses, and large businesses. The basic Xero plan gets you to send 20 sales and quotes, 5 bills, and expenses on Hubdoc and reconcile bank transactions.

The medium Xero plan would add unlimited sales, purchases. The upper plan has an option for project, multi-currency. You can add features separately too, for example payroll or projects.

Another great point about Xero is that you can also run a payroll and file the taxes directly. This saves a lot of admin costs and time!

How much does the Xero specialist get paid?

If you are keen to make a change and career move, here are some Xero salary numbers paid on average:

In the UK £ 32,000-35,000

in the USA $ 50,000-65,000

In Australia AU$ 66,000-70,000 (all based on Indeed.com)

Is Xero better than Quickbooks or Sage?

Any software of your choice has a purpose and that is to ensure the financial records are accurate. Having it on the cloud is a bonus of automatic backup and access!
